How long can they keep it up?

Those that seem hellbent on keeping Sarah Palin out in front of cameras and pushing to make her the “face of the Republican party” seem to have no end to their enthusiasm. I just can’t help but wonder how they plan to keep this up for the next 4 years. According to the story on Newshounds, Greta Van Susteren was again trying to blow some sunshine Palin’s way:

Van Susteren gushed about how Palin “stole the show” at the Republican Governor’s Association convention earlier in the week in Miami. But Van Susteren neglected to note that Palin’s popularity did not extend to her fellow governors who were not only reluctant to back her as a future presidential candidate, they also left her out of RGA’s new leadership lineup

I guess if the rumors are true that Palin is being offered $7 million dollars in a book deal, it will help cushion the blow that she is not on the executive committee. A fact that seems lost on Van Susteren. In a blog post she whines that ABC hates women because Palin wasn’t shown in the clip about the Republican Governor’s Conference:

ABC News then ran tape of Gov Pawlenty, Gov Jindal, Gov Barbour and Gov Crist. Who was invisible? Gov Palin.

She just doesn’t get it. Pawlenty is on the Executive Committee, as is Crist and Barbour. Gov. Jindal has been receiving a lot of press lately for being critical of the GOP’s game plan. Van Sustern tries to mask it as a “woman’s issue,” but she didn’t complain about Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle, who IS serving on the Executive Committee, no she again needs to point out to anybody who will listen that she believes that Palin is “a ‘rising stars’ of the Republican Party”, and nobody not even those Governors that were unhappy with the Palin press conference are going to tell her otherwise.
